SUPER PU BOND – 01 is a Single Component (1K) & Solvent-free moisture-curing Polyurethane (PUR) adhesive. It yields bonding with excellent water and heat resistance. The unique characteristic of this adhesive is that it is fast setting PU adhesive which sets in 15 -20 minutes of clamping and it requires only single side application than can bond wood to anything i.e. wood to wood, wood to metal, wood to Aluminium, etc.

Application Areas

  • It can be used to get Edge to Edge Joints, Finger Joint applications, Mortise and Tenon joints and Groove Joints.
  • It can find applications in areas where an exceptionally high mechanical strength is required like in making frames of doors and windows and wooden staircases.
  • It can also find applications in joining and bonding MDF boards.
  • It can be used to bond Wood, fiberboard, MDF, particleboard, ceramics, stones, bricks, marbles, metals, aluminum, etc.

Application Procedure

  • Firstly, please make sure that the surfaces of the substrates to be bonded are free from oil, grease and dirt.
  • Apply the adhesive uniformly onto any one side of the substrate in a thin layer using spatula or spreader.
  • The adhesive cross links and cures to give final water, solvent and weather resistant bond after reacting with moisture or humidity. Hence, the cross-linking process can be accelerated by means of a targeted moisture supply by dampening the edge surface of the substrate by spraying water or by using moist cloths.
  • Dampen the edge of the second substrate to be bonded by spraying water.
  • Bring the edges of both the substrates close to each other to assemble & clamp them firmly to apply adequate pressure.
  • Leave the assembly to set. It will set in about 15 to 20 minutes. De- clamp the substrates after about 30 minutes.
  • During curing, the adhesive creates foam & expands, which helps in filling gaps.
  • Optimum Bond strength will be achieved after 24 hours at room temperature
  • Foam visible over joint surface after curing can be easily sanded with emery paper to yield smooth joint surface.

  • The final bond obtained is weather resistant, heat resistant and water resistant.

Handling

Product is sensitive to moisture and hence must be stored in original sealed container in cool and dry place, away from moisture. The product should not be stored in any type of Plastic containers in order to avoid gelling of the product. The shelf life of product is 6 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under these conditions.
